Shropshire Sheep Show

03/07/2019 @ 09:50

Halls Auctioneers will be conducting the annual Shropshire Sheep Show & Sale at their Shrewsbury Auction Centre on Sunday, July 28.

Shropshire sheep have the distinction of being the oldest recorded sheep breed society in the UK and are well known for their calm nature, being long-lived, productive, docile and easy to handle.Flocks are very widespread geographically because they suit a wide range of climates and soil types.

The Shropshire can produce an excellent lamb carcase and can finish from grass alone in around 12 to 16 weeks.  Shropshire’s are among only a few traditional breeds that regularly achieve U carcase grades.

Shropshire’s are easily halter trained and often handled successfully by children in the show-ring.
