Leighton will be bursting with local talent this weekend when its Holy Trinity Church hosts a Festival of Talents on Saturday and Sunday.
The unique Victorian church will open its doors to a plethora of skills and hobbies including tapestries, embroidery, model railways, knitted items, paintings, a history of the church, poetry writing, a walking exhibition, a Llanfair Ginny exhibition, ancient maps, stylish modern sewn items, choral music, a raffle and so much more.
Also the much admired White Angel, carved by Georgina Naylor, the daughter of John Naylor who built much of Leighton in the 1840’s-1860’s, will be decorated for the occasion and an exhibition of recent belfry improvements will be on display.
Entry is free and a team of eager bakers will be ready to serve delicious cream teas to all throughout the weekend. The exhibition will end with a ‘Songs of Praise’ service on Sunday at 6.30pm.
On Saturday, a preview will run from 10am-12noon, followed by its full opening from 12noon-5pm, and then on Sunday from 12noon-5pm.
