“Most successful” Guilsfield Show in years

14/08/2019 @ 08:28

Thousands of people attended Guilsfield Show last week, leading to organisers hailing it as “one of busiest and most successful in recent history”.

Taking place at Fron Y Fele Field, Groeslwyd, by kind permission of Mr T. Trevor, the show featured a wide variety of horse, poultry, sheep and dog classes as well as horticultural, cookery and art classes, vintage machinery, trade stands, a falconry display and evening music event.

Show president Mr Maurice Jones and his wife, Aisla, were kept busy judging competitions and presenting prizes throughout the show day.

Show Committee Chair, Matthew Kneale, said: “It has been another bumper show with a real mixture of entertainment, trade stands and events. With such fantastic weather, the field was full of cars for most of the day with many people remaining to support the local artists performing in the early evening, and I think there have been more people here than last year.

“We really are grateful to the thousands of locals and visitors alike who have attended one of the several events that make up the Show week. From the President’s Party, Charity Lunch, Trail Runs, Show Day and Musicfest, we have had tremendous support and we still have a Tractor Rally to come in September.

“It is unbelievable that the sun shone for us all day given the forecast and weather over the weekend.”

The Show Committee would like to thank the Show Presidents and everyone involved for all their hard work in helping, stewarding and judging. And also the committee says a big thank you to everyone who attended.
