Pub is a fundraising hub!

There is a big push for pubs to become community hubs and one popular Welshpool watering hole has helped to raise big amounts for charity over the past year.

The Grapes, home to Waterloo Rovers Football Club, has not only raised vital money for the club through a monthly bingo night, but has been holding regular events to raise much needed funds for other charities and clubs.

A recent Sunday night quiz night raised funds for the town’s hockey club, while other events have been organised to support other good causes.

“We have got lots of different events coming up for different causes so hopefully the town can keep an eye on what’s happening and show their support,” said the pub’s Terri-Ann Ratledge. “Also, if anyone is interested in doing a fundraising event contact us at the Grapes for information.”
