Friends of Montgomery School, a committee made up of parents, has raised over £10,500 for the school during this year.

According to the Montgomery Wales Facebook Page, retiring Chair, Alwena Richards, said: “I am so proud of this amazing result. Year on year we seem to top the previous fundraising total with this year being no exception, raising £4,000 more than the previous year. We are so grateful to our many supporters including committee members, parents, local people, businesses and groups without whom none of this would have been possible.”

As a result of the money raised, the school has been able to purchase a range of ICT equipment including iPads, Chromebooks and laptops, as well as additional equipment for creative play, music and sports, including bikes, netball, football and yoga, and science and technology resources.

Headteacher Anna Griggs said: “With schools having to manage their budgets very carefully, it is so important that we continue to raise money so the children have better opportunities and resources which support the new curriculum. Thank you to everyone who has generously supported us - your help really does make a difference.”
