Another USA contract for Welshpool men

A company formed by two Welshpool area businessmen has landed another major contract to create a Fiber City in the United Sates.

International fiber optic network developer SiFi Networks (SiFi), whose aim is to revolutionise the North American telecoms market, was formed by Mike Harris previously of Total Network Solutions and now chairman of The New Saints FC along with Roland Pickstock of The Pickstock Group.

The city council of Simi Valley in California is the latest to approve SiFi Networks’ FiberCity™ proposal enabling them to build a privately funded open access fiber network throughout the city.

The planned fiber network will pass each and every home and business throughout Simi Valley providing one of the region’s most sophisticated networks.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with SiFi Networks to bring a fiber network to Simi Valley,” said Simi Valley Mayor Keith Mashburn.

“Very soon, every resident and business owners will be able to have a fiber connection at their door that can provide gigabit service. Internet connectivity will no longer be an issue anywhere in Simi Valley. This further enhances the desirability and quality of life residents and business owners currently enjoy in Simi Valley.

Once built the network would allow access to service providers enabling them to deliver a range of products and price points to the residents and businesses in the City therefore providing more choice and better customer service.

“We are delighted to work with Simi Valley and are now eager to start our process of completing the demand survey, designing the network and selecting the best possible service providers for the City,” said Scott Bradshaw, President of SiFi Networks America.
