Amelia donates her locks

A local youngster has had the chop, and donated her hair to charity along with a nice sum of money raised.

Amelia Taylor, age 13, of Hendomen, near Montgomery, has donated her chopped off long hair to be made into a wig for a child or young person who has lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

Amelia first donated her hair to Little Princess Trust back in November 2017 and then began to grow her hair again, enabling her to send another donation before Christmas.

Amelia had her hair cut at Vanity Hair & Beauty, Welshpool, before they had to close again due to Covid-19. It was plaited and packed up ready to be posted to Little Princess Trust.

The youngster also raised £45 through sponsorship for another Amelia, one of her sister Zoe’s best friends, who is currently receiving cancer treatment.

The money raised will go towards an electric bike for Amelia Spalding to help get her mobile again. Her fundraising page can be found at www.gofundme.com/f/fngxcb-3000 and you can find out more about Little Princess Trust at https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/
