Scarecrows in Montgomery

29/09/2021 @ 10:28

Montgomery’s new play park is stepping ever closer to becoming a reality, and a new fund raising initiative has been launched to help it on its way.

With a lottery application submitted, and various other grants in the pipeline, as part of the community fundraising efforts, the Friends of Montgomery Play Park are organising a Montgomery Scarecrow Trail and Competition.

Montgomery residents and businesses are invited to display scarecrows in time for October half term when there will be maps of locations available so that people can view them all and vote for the winners.

There will be prizes for the best-dressed, the funniest, best local business and favourite overall scarecrow, with winners being announced on October 31.

Entry forms are available from Bunners and Spar, or by request to the Friends of Montgomery Play Park on Facebook, and need to be handed in to Bunners by October 15, along with the entry fee of £5.

Scarecrows will be displayed between October 23-31, and scarecrow trail packs will be available for £2 for visitors to follow the trail, find all of the scarecrows and choose their favourites.
