Book reveals family connection to Battle of Trafalgar
The Collingwoods is a family hailing from Northumberland but it has rich ties with Welshpool, and author Steven Collingwood-Jones will be on hand at Hardy’s Bookstore on Saturday between 11am-1pm to sign copies and to share the secrets that it reveals.
Without giving too much away, Mr Collingwood-Jones said the book “highlights how the family is connected to the Welshpool area” and gives a “brief glimpse into the lives and history of some of the Collingwood family going back over 1000 years”.
The family is historically connected to The Battle of Trafalgar, the Battle of Bunker Hill Boston, the Jacobites, the Battle of Naseby, the Border Reivers, royalty and ending up with a Viking in their ranks!
Hardy’s Bookstore is located on Berriew Street.
