Chamber choir to release new CD

25/11/2011 @ 03:49

Quindici, the chamber choir based in Montgomeryshire, has launched a new CD - Even Such Is Time – as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

The CD is being officially released at Montgomery Town Hall on Saturday, December 3 at 10.30am and Director, Suzanne Edwards, said: “We wanted to make the launch a real Montgomeryshire event, and where better to do it than in our county town!

“We’re grateful to the Friends of Guiding for allowing us a slot in their coffee morning to announce the launch; and for allowing us to entertain the coffee drinkers with a selection from the CD. We will also be singing some carols to get us all in the mood for Christmas.

“I’m really pleased that my co-director will be with us too. Tim (Mills) now lives in Glasgow, but is back specially for the launch.”

The title of the CD – Even Such is Time - is a quote from Sir Walter Raleigh, and the words were set to music specifically for Quindici by Tony Radford in memory of his son Andrew, who sang with Quindici for many years. The CD is dedicated to both Andrew and to Polly Jones, a talented musician who also sang with Quindici.

The CD is recorded live at St. Michael’s, Tenbury Wells, in September, an experience which Suzanne described as a “wonderful weekend”.

Copies of the CD will be on sale from December 3 priced at £10. Enquiries to quindici.chamberchoir@yahoo.com
