The scale of the proposed ‘industrialisation’ of the Montgomeryshire countryside will be unveiled in Welshpool over the next fortnight.
Wind Farm Campaign group, Take the Power Back, is bringing its Montgomeryshire Maps exhibition to the town’s Cockpit in a bid to raise awareness of the scale of planned developments for the area.
“These large scale maps of wind farm proposals have recently enjoyed a public exhibition in Newtown, and demand has meant finding a venue in Welshpool was important.” said Jane Rees, committee member.
“There are seven maps, covering Newtown/Montgomery, Vyrnway Valley, Carno, Pant, Llangurig, Llanidloes, and Rea Valley,” said Jane. “I strongly urge any public member who has not viewed these maps to do so, as the scale of the proposals and impact is enormous. There are many applications due for decision in the coming months so there is still time to voice very important objection.”
Jane says paperwork and advice to aid visitors to make their opposition known will be available at the exhibition.
Details:
The exhibition is open from 10am-2pm on the next two Saturday and Mondays until the end of the month at the Cockpit (behind Natwest).
The Campaign group would also like to thank the W.I. for their support and help with the exhibition.
