Castle in 'world's top 10' for Leap love

27/02/2012 @ 03:38

Powis Castle has been named as one of the most Romantic Gardens in the World for women to propose to their men this Leap Day.

The Telegraph has released its list of the top 10 most romantic gardens and alongside Monet’s Water Garden and the Alhambra is our very own Powis Castle & Garden.

And to mark the occasion when every four years it is the budding bride’s turn to pop the question, the gardens will be open on Wednesday. This will be by appointment only to ensure couples can be greeted with a celebratory glass of bubbly. And any proposals at Powis Castle during March, will be offered a free cream tea, for husband and wife to be.

Following the engagement, the lucky couples who decide to be married at Powis Castle and Garden will receive more gifts.

Alison Dyer of Powis Castle & Garden said: “With over 800 years of history and 26 acres of stunning, internationally acclaimed gardens, Powis Castle & Garden provides a unique and enchanting setting for your wedding ceremony.”
