Run The Great Wall... in Welshpool!

The Armoury is throwing open its doors for a charity Open Day with a difference on May 5.
 
The Health & Fitness Centre has undergone an extensive refurbishment since it was taken over last year and has become extremely popular amongst residents looking to shed the pounds and get into shape.
 
And it has now come up with a unique way of inviting anyone interested in losing some excess pounds to come and take a look around, for free.
 
“The Open Day is an open invite for anyone to come down and have a look around, try some classes and take on some different challenges linked to iconic parts of the world,” said The Armoury’s Chris Greatorex.
 
Classes will be moved out into the Car Park (weather permitting) and challenges in the state-of-the-art gym will include ‘spinning the Tour de France’, ‘rowing the Thames’, ‘Running the Great Wall of China’ or ‘stepping the Eiffel Tower’.
 
The bar will be open and food available throughout the day and funds raised will go towards the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. Visitors can view the Ladies Gym which is currently under construction as well as the new reception area to be built in the next month.
 
“It’s a great opportunity to come down with no obligation, take part in the some classes and have a look around at the work which has transformed the facility,” added Chris. For more information call 01938 554143.
