Has Montgomeryshire got X Factor?

Simon Cowell may not be there; and don’t expect a TV audience of millions but, nevertheless, your road to stardom could start this week at the Montgomeryshire’s Got Talent auditions.

Starting in Welshpool, and continuing in Llanfyllin and Llanfair, the search to unearth the next local Joe McElderry is on and whether your talent is juggling, singing, dancing or even telling jokes, the floor is your’s!

Organised by the Powys Youth Council and managed by Arts Connection as part of the National Youth Work Week, the competition is open to anyone aged between 11-25 with a grand final being held at Newtown’s Theatr Hafren on November 3.

A spokesperson explained: “There are two categories – live performance and visual display – with two acts going through to the final from every audition. It is free to enter so we encourage anyone aged between 11-25 with a talent in anything to come down and give it a go!”

Registration dates:
Welshpool: Youth centre October 11, between 7-8pm or the high school on October 12 between 1-1.30pm
Llanfyllin:  High school reception before October 15
Llanfair: At the info van, or high school reception before October 14

Audition dates:
Welshpool: Youth Centre, October 19, 7pm
Llanfyllin: Youth and Community centre, October 20,  7pm
Llanfair: October 20, 7pm
