Valentine’s, yum mums and NYC!

It’s the first Monday of the month (already) and our columnist Sarah Rowlands from purebeauty has plenty to share

Hello all, I hope your year has started off well and you are all keeping to those New Year’s resolutions?

I’ve received some lovely feedback from my last column. It's really nice to know you are enjoying reading my blog and that some of my words have inspired you to go out and try new things. I think I've got a few of you hooked on Pinterest too… I knew you would love it. If only my pinterest wardrobe was real!

A quick update to start. I have just booked an April flight to attend IBS New York, the biggest international beauty show in the world. I am really looking forward to this and it's what I’ve been working towards over the years. I can't wait to see what new ideas I can come back with to keep Welshpool up to date with the latest beauty crazes and fashions which I can officially say are straight from New York! I hope I make it back and share these ideas with you though because I am travelling alone and directions is not one of my strong points!

January has been exciting for me. The salon has been very busy and I am working on a few projects ready for the year ahead, including being asked to do bridal make-ups for Lake Vyrnwy Hotel and Spa which I am really pleased about. The best news was becoming a proud auntie with my lovely little nephew Oliver being born. He is absolutely adorable and I love having pictures sent to me each morning showing which funny face he's come up with! I'm not a morning person and normally I wouldn't bother trying to talk to me until I'm on at least my third cappuccino, but with him he puts a smile on my face every day and it's a lot less fattening too...

I think there seems to have been a bit of a baby boom recently and it has given me the idea to branch out into another field of beauty, I have a feeling it is going to be very popular with some of our current and new clients: that’s right, its Mother and baby time!

I have a lot to share in this column with February being a busy month for us. We can't forget Valentine's Day of course! Now this is either a day we love or hate but if you are single like me - I had to get that in, in case any eligible bachelors are reading - then why not embrace it instead of sitting at home feeling sorry for yourself! I have made up a Special Valentine's package you can either purchase as a Gift for that special someone - come on lads do something a little different this year than the usual flowers - or for those of you who don't have anyone to buy for then why not treat yourself and have a 'me' day! Come in and relax, then take yourself out with your friends and drink and dance the night away!
