Solving a modern life quandary!

It may not be the cure for cancer or mankind’s solution to long-term energy needs, but a Welshpool company says it is helping to solve a modern day dilemma!

The iPad has fast become as ‘essential’ in the 21^st century home as the flat screen TV and we have bought them in their millions. Our recent MyTown visitor analytics showed a startling increase in traffic to our sites through iPads which has prompted us to react (more on that in the coming weeks!).

But it has also created the sort of glitch that has become more of an annoyance than a matter of life and death!

If, like me, you dug that little bit deeper to buy Apple’s smart cover to go with your device, you would have immediately been struck by a flaw in its design. I travel a lot, in an average year I probably rack up 50+ flights, so my iPad has quickly become my close companion.

But when it comes to watching stuff, it falls annoyingly short with the smart cover’s roll back front panel only allowing, at the very best, a 20% tilt, meaning I have to hold it or prop it up against something to watch films or TV series. It soon becomes very weary.

But fret no more! Welshpool-based Promotional Handling UK has come to my rescue after securing the UK rights to sell the ‘Smarter Stands’ which have been invented by renowned Los Angeles app maker Dotan Saguy.

With a couple of plastic clips and some non-slip pads your problem is solved! And your pocket is not a lot lighter, which is a relief considering the money already spent on the iPad and its cover!

The company expects to follow trends in the US by selling thousands of the units which have just arrived at its Dragonworks warehouse.

“It is a simple and cost-effective fix to a common modern-day flaw for the iPad’s smart cover,” said Promotional Handling’s Managing Director, Alan Lewis. “Tens of thousands of these Smarter Stands have already been sold across the USA and we are hopeful that they will become a must-have item for UK iPad users too.”
