Sinden opponent confirmed

Welshpool’s very own professional boxer Warren Sinden will fight British-based Zimbabwe fighter Disney Huni in his comeback fight on June 29.

Sinden returns to the ring almost two years after his dramatic debut in Preston when 120 local fans travelled to see him draw his professional debut.

He has recently signed a 10-fight deal, with Huni confirmed last night as the 23-year-old’s first opponent.

“He is a good fighter and, like me, he has only fought once as a professional when he won,” said Sinden. “Knowing my opponent has made me even more focussed and I can’t wait to put on a great performance to show that I’m back!”

Sinden has stepped up his training and is mixing sessions in his father Mike’s gym in Welshpool with more intensive sparring and training in Birmingham.

Tickets for the Birmingham fight, priced from £25, are now on sale and a bus leaving Welshpool will cost £10. They are available from Warren at Coral Bookmarkers in town.
