100,000 reasons to be cheerful!

24/11/2010 @ 11:37

Last night the team at your favourite local news site was out celebrating an incredible achievement, so please excuse any typing errors today!
One year ahead of schedule, mywelshpool smashed through 100,000 hits during a 30-day period for the first time, representing a 25 per cent jump in traffic for the same time-period just a month ago.
And it is thanks to you, the people of the Welshpool area, that we are continuing to raise eye brows across the national media scene. The industry is watching closely and with your encouragement, we are now planning to unveil similar sites to service more towns and areas. You are quite literally helping to shape the future of local news reporting by regularly visiting mywelshpool.
We have to admit, we thought it would take anything up to 15 months to reach these levels but you have proved us wrong by reaching it in just over three months. That’s right; we are still only 14 weeks old!
Advertisers are signing up in growing numbers and we are indebted to them for their financial assistance which is helping us to provide you with up-to-the-minute news free of charge. All we ask is that you support them. Click on their banners, visit their web sites and where possible, pay them a visit. It is all about generating a strong community spirit and supporting local business and jobs.
So what do our figures mean from the last 30 days?
100,828 hits: The amount of pages that have been read on the site since October 24
19,428 visits: How many times the site has been accessed during that time collectively by you
5,706 visitors: Number of computers logging on to the site (remember you can times this by up to three to determine numbers of people logging on due to shared household computers)
5.19 pages/visit: The average number of pages read per visit
21.17% new visitors: As it says, the percentage that discovered us for the first time
6.52 av. time on site: This shows you spend nearly seven minutes on the site per visit!
52 countries: Proving that expatriates are checking up on ‘home’
These growing figures are startling when you consider the town has a total population of just 7,000 and our catchment area is less than 25,000! We can’t thank you enough for your support and we look forward to delivering all your news, business, sport and features to you free of charge for many years to come!
