New date announced for Music Festival

As Welshpool is preparing to host its annual Poetry Festival this weekend, another of the town's popular events that was hit by the floods a fortnight ago has announced its new date.

The Welshpool Poetry Festival will host events across the town on Friday and Saturday, and while that event is set to bask in decent weather, the rain-decimated Music Festival is back in the planning stage for a new date of August 18.

In an announcement last night, the event stated: “We are absolutely delighted and very very excited to announce that WMF is back on and will be taking place on Saturday, August 18!

“Book your time off work, tell your mates and save the date because it really will be such an amazing day of 'live' music, Welshpool will again be rocking to some awesome sounds!

“If you would like to play, please only contact us at wmfest@ymail.com, this is the only place where we will be able to book you, thanks.”
