Maintenance Supervisor

Responsible to: Production Supervisor

Job Purpose: To contribute to the efficient and effective maintenance of all machines etc. both in the production area and the office area.

Principle Responsibilities:

1.      To conform to pre-planned maintenance schedules which involves daily machine checks.

2.       Replenish oils and lubricants on the machines – as and when necessary.

3.       Recording and reporting faults – electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.

4.       Cleaning and repairing machines.

5.       Replacing airlines on pneumatic equipment as and when required.

6.       Assist with any reported breakdowns.

7.       Documenting day to day activities in the maintenance records.

8.       Organising contractors and overseeing work is completed.

9.        Ensuring stock levels are maintained to ensure minimum disruption to production.

10.      General caretaking of the premises (both production and office)

11.       Comply with all current and future HR and Health and Safety policies and procedures.

12.      To undertake any other appropriate duties as required by the Line Manager.

Other Information

·         Usual hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 16.30pm, Friday 8.00am – 13.00pm.  

·         Flexibility is key as there is occasionally a requirement to work overtime to repair machinery out of normal working hours.

·         Previous experience with mechanical maintenance on factory machines.

·         The ability to meet deadlines and to be self-motivated and work on own initiative.

·         Types of metal and steel – mild, stainless, dura heat, key steel, phosphor bronze.

·         Excellent timekeeping record.

·         Self-motivated.
