Water off tonight in parts of Welshpool

 

A large section of Welshpool faces a night without water tonight (Wednesday) as Severn Trent connects its newly installed mains pipes.

 

Residents in Borfa Green, Brookfield Road, Croft Road and Dingle Road have been told by letter that their supply will be cut off from 10.30pm until 6am tomorrow.  And a spokesman warned that some residents are in for a sleepless night.

 

“In order to complete the works in the Borfa Green area we now need to connect the new water main to the new system on Dingle Road and Brookfield Road,” said the spokesman.

  

“As with any work of this nature that involves digging up roads and replacing pipes, noise is likely. We will do all we can throughout the day to prepare the connections and keep noise and disruption levels down.”

 

Residents have been warned that water may be dirty for a while but are advised to run taps for a few minutes. Those on meters should take readings before and after running their taps and then call Severn Trent on 0800 783 4444.
