New one-way launch date set

Welshpool’s one-way system should be up and running by January 17, weather permitting.

The new date has been revealed by frustrated town planners who have seen previous deadlines missed due to a host of problems ranging from overlooked signage provisions and the weather.

Crunch talks between all parties concerned are set for Tuesday but town planners will be insistent on their target date of January 17.

“The new target date is January 17,” said Town Clerk Robert Robinson. “We will have confirmation on Tuesday. This is of course subject to the weather not hitting us again.”
