There was a record attendance at the January meeting of the North Powys branch of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS).

Edward Parry gave an illustrated lecture entitled Black and White Houses of Montgomeryshire, and the vote of thanks was given by Avril Hart, Chairman.

The society meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Powis Suite of the Royal Oak Hotel, Welshpool, at 2.30pm.  Non-members are welcome to attend, though a donation of £5 toward costs is requested.

Members receive several benefits, including lectures, visits to places of interest, study courses, regular glossy magazines and a NADFAS discount card.  Lecture topics include art, architecture, furniture, music and gardens.

The next meeting takes place on February 25 at 2.30pm when the speaker is Group Captain Michael Clegg and his subject In the Realms of Osiris' - spectacular Egyptian art.
