Town to host ‘Worlds’ seminar

28/04/2016 @ 12:29

Aspiring culinary competition judges, competitors, trainers and event organisers are expected to attend a World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) judging seminar in Welshpool in May.

The seminar, organised by the Culinary Association of Wales (CAW), is designed to improve the skills of those attending whilst also giving them an insight into standards now required in international culinary competitions.

“This is a continuing professional development event and qualifies for a WACS certificate on successful completion of the seminar,” said CAW president Arwyn Watkins. “The seminar does not automatically give rights to be an approved judge.

“To become a WACS approved judge candidates must attend the seminar and provide evidence of qualification and experience for evaluation by the Culinary Competition Committee.”

The maximum number of participants is limited to 25 and the seminar will be held at Cambrian Training Company’s Centre of Excellence for Culinary and Butchery Skills.

Applications to attend close tomorrow (Friday) and should be emailed to: office@welshculinaryassociation.com

Priority will be given to members of the CAW and Culinary Team Wales. Non-members will be charged £50.
