Your town needs you!

There are organisations and charities that need your help, and not just financially.

Often we read and hear about the need for people to dig deep and help out locally through donations and sponsorship, but now you have the opportunity to give something just as important – your time.

On Saturday, the Town Hall will host a Community Volunteers Morning from 9am-12noon when members of the public can meet with local organisations and charities.

“If you live in the local area with perhaps some spare time and would like to help out in a voluntary role, then please pop down and see what’s available,” said a spokesperson.

“Local Volunteer groups will be in attendance displaying their work and activities, giving you the chance to speak with a representative and learn more about what they do.

“It is the ideal opportunity for anyone with some spare time to seek out a group/activity suited to you.”

The Community Volunteers Morning will be hosted in the Corn Exchange of the Town Hall and groups already confirming attendance include The Royal British Legion, Meals on Wheels, Healthy Friendships, Welshpool Food Bank and more.
