The Wales Air Ambulance will benefit from a charity golf day and dinner which is being organised locally by the Culinary Association of Wales (CAW) this month and teams are still being sought.

Ten teams of four are being sought for the golf day at Lakeside Golf Course, Garthmyl, on June 27, which will be followed by a dinner cooked by chefs from the senior Culinary Team Wales which is preparing for the Culinary Olympics in Germany in October.

The cost per team is £200, including golf and the dinner. Individuals will be charged £30 to play a round of golf and £30 for the dinner.

Spaces for the golf and dinner are limited to 40 and 70 respectively and all profits from the event will go to the Wales Air Ambulance, the adopted charity during Arwyn Watkins’ term as the CAW’s president.

“The Wales Air Ambulance is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and, as it’s the adopted charity of both the Culinary Association of Wales and Lakeside Golf Club, it seemed an ideal venue for our golf day,” said Mr Watkins.

“We chose the Wales Air Ambulance as our adopted charity during my presidency because we are both pan-Wales organisations and who knows when we might need their life-saving services.”

Anna Evans from Wales Air Ambulance said: “This exciting partnership with the Culinary Association of Wales will hopefully be mutually beneficial and is going to extend the charity’s network of contacts.

“Having already worked together at the Welsh International Culinary Championships earlier this year, I am looking forward to the golf day and dinner.”

Teams wishing to enter the golf day should contact Mr Watkins on 01938 555893 or email for further information.
