Whether you are voting in or out, residents are being urged to check now that they eligible to make their choice at the upcoming EU Referendum.
Anyone who was already registered to vote (or recently registered) for the elections that took place across Powys on May 5 are OK and being told by Powys County Council not to re-register.
The council’s Electoral Services has issued this clarification after receiving a high number of enquiries from people asking to re-register to vote ahead of next month’s referendum.
Jeremy Patterson, Electoral Registration Officer for Powys, said: “I want to reassure electors in Powys that they do not need to re-register to vote in next month’s EU Referendum unless their circumstances have changed.
“People who move home between now and the EU Referendum registration deadline (Tuesday, June 7) will need to re-register to vote at their new property.
“Those who are eligible to vote but have not registered have until then to do so.”
