Welshpool Under-19s came from behind to beat Llanidloes 3-1 in the League Cup Final at Victoria Avenue leaving the club's chairman predicting a bright future.

A well taken free kick gave Llani a half time lead but Pool turned up the heat in the second period, equalising through Ryan Biggs. Steve Roberts then made it 2-1 before Max McLaughlin completed the scoring to make it 3-1.

Chairman Dean Gill said: "I'm absolutely delighted by the progress made by these lads. The bulk of the team were in last season's Under-16 side so to achieve what they have this season is testament to the hard work by Vaughan Harding and Mark Bowers.

"Considering this is the first batch of youngsters to come through our we'll run youth system it's exciting times for Welshpool Town FC."

Pool could make it a clean sweep tonight when meet Llanidloes again at Latham Park in the Under-19 League play-off final.
