The money has come in, and the final amount shows that Vince Roberts has raised a whopping £6,475 for charity!

We have followed Vince’s progress over the past year since the popular resident decided to simply grow his normally shaven locks for the entire 12 months.

It has certainly been a colourful time, with changes in colour throughout the period, but it has captured the attention of the town who backed his cause by digging deep.

“I can’t thank everyone enough,” said Vince. “I have raised a total of £6,475 to be split between the Lingden Davies Unit in Shrewsbury and the Maggie Centre in Dundee.”

The fund raising year came to an end with an event at The Pheasant which was again well supported.

“I would like to thank Rose and Jordan from the Pheasant for hosting,” he said. “There has also been support throughout the year from The Rugby Club who hosted the football v rugby event and Shane and Melvin for singing during the day.

“Thanks also to Frozen Cabin, Eleri, Melvin and Alex Davies who performed at the Pheasant on the final head shave day. There has also been great support from Snips Hairdressers’ Bonnie and her staff for doing all the different hair colours; Rikki Lloyd and John Langford for donating the food. Tesco and Morrisons for their donations. A big thanks to everyone for displaying and collecting money throughout the year.

“Finally, many, many thanks to everyone who supported me and donated to the charities.”

Previously Vince told us: “A couple of lads I know are currently battling cancer through the Lingen Davies Unit, and Maggie’s Centre in Dundee (Scotland) helped my wife's sister who sadly passed away, aged just 34. Also they helped her father who passed away two years ago.”
