Welshpool slay The Dragons

 On Friday, the Midlands based Knights and Dragons Golf Society challenged Welshpool Golf Club to a four ball better ball match and Welshpool made the most of home advantage to win by 283-261 points. 

The Knights and Dragons very kindly presented a shield to played for annually and this now sits proudly in the club's trophy cabinet.

The weekends play was much effected by wind and rain.  On Saturday, the stableford competition was won by Steven Evans (18) with 34 points, and in second place was Steve Trow (13) with 33 and in third was Colin Mumford (15) with 32. 

Mike Kendal, Graham Hughes, and Stan Rawlings were the winners of the seniors' Texas Scramble with a score of 58.5. In close second were John Morley, Maurice Fox, Paul Butterworth and Bob Aldridge with 60.4. The seniors July Medal saw Graham Moss (15) triumphant with a net 71, just easing Peter Sharman(23) into second with 72 with Peter Dixon (22) 73, third.
