Delay to wind farm convoys

There is confusion today over the start date for the giant wind farm convoys to pass through the area towards the Tirgwynt Wind Farm near Cefn Coch.

Yesterday Powys County Council informed us that the convoys were due to start passing through the area almost on a daily basis from Monday through to mid-September.

But last night a wind farm insider said that would not be the case, and added that there was not a confirmed date as yet.

The confusion is providing ever more frustration for motorists who could find journeys in the Welshpool area disrupted by the enormous convoys for up to eight weeks.

The insider gave no reason for the delay and we have asked Powys for clarification, but we believe that they could now start towards the end of next week.
