There’s a change at the top of Welshpool Town who announced last night that Russell Cadwallader has stepped aside to allow Terry Ingram to take the helm.

Cadwallader took control three years ago from David Jones but after citing an increased workload as the head of Maesydre Primary School, he decided to allow someone else to try to reignite the club’s fortunes.

Ingram (pictured) returns to a club he was last involved with under Huw Griffiths, before going on to coach Denbigh Town and Cefn Druids with whom he enjoyed a dalliance with European football.

Chairman Dean Gill told MyWelshpool: “Russell will continue in a role as General Manager which we are delighted about because his links with the school are invaluable as we continue to develop the town’s youngsters.

“We are thrilled with Terry’s return to the club. He has a wealth of experience at the highest level and a very strong local knowledge being a Welshpool lad. We are delighted to welcome him home as we, as a club, feel he will be a valuable asset.”

Last season Welshpool Town finished mid table in the Spar Mid Wales League’s Division One.
