Who attacked my Biscuit?

A Berriew woman is distraught after her pet cat was left fighting for its life following an apparent beating.

Kathryn Jones found little Biscuit (pictured) in agony lying outside their home and despite receiving urgent medical care, she admits (at the time of writing) that the five-year-old “may not make it through”.

But her sadness on finding her precious pet in agony has turned to anger after the vet revealed that Biscuit's broken spine was probably caused by being struck with a stick or a similar object.

“It appears that some lowlife evil thug has battered her,” said Kathryn. “I found her outside the house unable to move but got her to the vets immediately and now she is currently being kept there fighting for her life. I cannot put into words how upset and angry we are.”

Kathryn lives in a rural part of the Berriew with very few neighbours and said that Biscuit does not wander off far so “everyone knows and loves her”.

“This is the last thing I expected to happen moving to a quiet country area,” she said. “No living creature should be treated like this.

“At the moment she has trouble with her internal organs too so she may not make it. She no longer has use of her tail which will need to be removed if she pulls through the next few days.”

Kathryn believes that Biscuit would not have run away from the alleged attack because of her affection towards people.

The incident, which happened sometime between 6pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday, has been reported to the RSPCA.
