Biscuit still fighting for life

The family cat that is believed to have been beaten with a stick or a similar object is still fighting for its life.

Yesterday we revealed how Biscuit (pictured) was found by its owner Kathryn Jones unable to move and despite emergency surgery, the five-year-old faces some anxious times ahead.

Biscuit did manage to spend some time at the family home near Berriew but became too unwell and was taken back to the vets last night.

“We are going to try and nurse her at home but it means a couple of visits to the vet daily until they know if the treatment is working,” said Kathryn. “It could take a week or two to see if she can be saved. But she is worth every effort as long as she is comfortable and not too distressed.”

Kathryn’s distress at finding her cat so badly injured on Sunday morning turned to anger when she was informed by the vet that the broken spine was cause by being beaten.

The incident has been reported to the RSPCA.
