Hunt is on for arsonist

Police are on the hunt for an arsonist after a caravan was set on fire by the side of a rural road over the weekend.

We have asked the force for more information, but the few details we have received indicate that the blaze was started deliberately in a layby on the B4396, half a mile from Llangedwyn and shortly before 10am yesterday.

A police insider told us that the fire could have been a lot worse.

“The fire caused significant damage to the caravan and we are lucky that it didn’t cause something more major to the surrounding countryside,” he said.

Local fire crews were called to the blaze and their quick response is believed to have prevented something more serious.
