Twenty riders took to the start line in the latest round of the Hafren CC TT series on a challenging 23 mile course with a strong headwind on the Berriew to Tregynon leg.
Louise Downward (71:49) took first in the women’s race, with Sarah Wilding (72:41) pushing her close for second.
The men’s race was fast, despite the windy conditions, with 10 rides getting under the hour.
Bryn Davies continued to dominate with very fast 52:24 giving him first, chased hard by Peter Thomas (53:22) and Phil Thomas taking 3rd with 54:54
With Bryn and Peter showing great form, everything boded well for the following SCCA Coaching Revolutions 4-up Championships which were held on the 50k course in Market Drayton.
The boys were joined by Dilwyn Griffiths and Chris Hill and they put in an amazing performance in strong winds and against a strong field.
Out of 26 teams that took to the start line their time of 1:09:38 was good enough to place them 6th overall.
Not to be overshadowed was the second Hafren team which consisted of Paul Bufton, Graham Harris, Rebecca Richardson and Neil Vose who posted a time of 1:15:02 which also saw them finish inside the top 10 in 9th overall.
