The road to recovery

21/08/2016 @ 09:35

The cat that was brutally injured in an alleged attack last month is fighting back, according to her owner.

Biscuit (pictured) was found in agony outside owner Kathryn Jones’ front door in Berriew, and the vet’s diagnosis was a fractured spine caused by being struck by an object like an iron bar or plank of wood.

The early signs were grim with Biscuit unlikely to recover but a month on and the five-year-old is slowly returning to her old self.

“The odds were against her but she is a little fighter,” said Kathryn. “She is doing really well. She has had an operation to remove her tail because the injury meant she lost use of it.

“She had daily visits to the vet for the first two weeks but now she only needs to go once a week as she is doing really well.

“We are thrilled. It’s brilliant news as another couple of weeks and hopefully she will make a full recovery minus her tail!”

“I just want to thank everyone for all the support and best wishes sent for Biscuit's recovery. We are just looking forward to having our old Biscuit back.”

The RSPCA was informed about the alleged attack but tracking down the culprit is such a rural area without any witnesses would prove almost impossible.
