Spaces on college sports course

Students on the Sports course at NPTC Group of College’s Newtown Campus are looking forward to taking their next step and heading off to University after their examination results success and there are still spaces on the new course.

The Sports department students were among those that were jumping for joy with a number of high achievers gaining triple distinctions in recognition of their hard work.

Some highlights include: Asha Evans from Rhayader: DDD Asha is going to Cardiff Metropolitan to study Sport and P.E.

Naomi Evans from Llanidloes: D*D*D* is going to Cardiff Metropolitan to study Sport and P.E.

Sol Jones from Kerry: D*DD. Sol is going to St Mary’s University Twickenham to study Sport and P.E. 

Anya Lewis from Newtown: D*D*D* is going to Edge Hill University to study Sport and P.E.

Dewi Williams from Llandyssil: DD*D* is going to Cardiff Metropolitan to study Sports Development

Josh Griffiths achieved DDM and now continues his education at Cardiff Metropolitan studying Sports and Physical Education.

Reuben Lloyd from Newtown achieved MPP and will continue studies at University of South Wales

Studying a Foundation Degree coaching and Development.

Gareth Watkins Said, “Our students worked hard last year, many getting involved in extra activities to support their development.

“Reuben for example is a very good football coach and accumulated over 200 hours coaching experience during his time at college. This contribution was pivotal to the development of football in Newtown and we wish him, along with the others, every success in the future.

·         For the 11th year in succession, the overall pass rate (99.1 per cent) exceeded 99 per cent.  In 40 subjects out of the 44 offered, students achieved a remarkable 100 per cent pass rate. Forty-eight per cent of the students sitting A Level exams achieved A* to B grades and 75 per cent of students achieved A* to C grades.
