The weather wasn’t kind to Llanfair Caereinion Show at the weekend, but organisers of this Saturday’s Leighton Show are planning a big day out come rain or shine.

The popular rural show has grown year on year and includes many traditional events alongside some surprisingly modern twists.

The Fun Run, Fell Run and Dog Show also attract a great number of entrants and the Show itself goes from strength to strength evoking the best of countryside values whilst creating fun for everyone including the children and welcoming those new to the area.

There will be more than 80 classes being displayed at the show which will take place from 2pm in the Showfield alongside Leighton Church with a full bar throughout the day.

There’s still time to enter crafts, flowers, photographs and cookery items as this is a special show with a Royal theme to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

There is a Grand Draw and the generosity of the villagers has ensured two £100 prizes. “Thanks also go to Duncan, Carol and Paul Alexander of Alexanders, Welshpool for their ongoing support with a £50 voucher for their shop and to all the other many villagers and supporters who donate so many prizes for the raffle,” said a spokesperson.

Show Schedules and details of everything on offer on the Show day itself including Draw Tickets are available at Alexanders.

The fun continues with an evening party including a hot meal, disco and live entertainment at £12 each (prior booking essential).
