EE: Overgrown trees causing signal problem

08/09/2016 @ 05:44

As more people signed up to a Facebook page criticising phone network provider EE for their awful Welshpool coverage, the company has been in touch to reassure customers it will be fixed soon.

Users have been complaining for some time now that they were struggling to get a signal in the town, and the mixed messages from their customer service line was only causing more frustration.

But last night EE told MyWelshpool they have identified the problem and hope to rectify it as soon as possible, whilst explaining that their customer services team has tried to be transparent with complaints made.

A spokesperson told us: “Following reports of signal issues from customers in the Welshpool area, we have investigated and found that overgrown trees are blocking the signal between our site in Welshpool and the site it connects to the north of the town.

“We’re working with landowners so that we can carry out the necessary work to trim those trees and restore line-of-sight. We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused while we work to fix the problem, and hope to restore full service as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, visitors to the EE Complaints Welshpool Facebook page have pointed out that other networks are also struggling locally.
