Leighton Show is just two days away, but organisers are not happy!

The ‘end-of-summer’ show has grown in popularity over recent years thanks to the genuine community spirit it has created.

But that feeling is lacking just now after someone pinched a marketing tool being used to promote a certain part of the day.

“Our lovely big wooden corgi (pictured) advertising the Leighton Royal Dog Show has been stolen from opposite Leighton Village Hall & School!” said a spokesperson.

“It was taken either late Tuesday night or very early Wednesday morning and we have no ‘leads’. As the show is Saturday we are anxious to get the corgi back.

“It isn't chipped (although it is made of woodchip) and has never strayed before. We are eager for information.”

Earlier this week we ran a story highlighting the activities expected on Saturday with organisers promising the biggest and best yet. The corgi is being used to promote the show’s royal theme to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.
