Len Kilby, Welshpool Town's most successful manager has died in a Shrewsbury nursing home.
Kilby led Welshpool to success in the Welsh Amatuer Cup in the 1970s - a decade when the Welshpool club dominated Mid Wales football and were respected throughout Wales.
He died aged 85 at the Ottley House Nursing Home on Tuesday.
Kilby was also a renowned tennis coach and remained a staunch Welshpool supporter until his death. Before fading health he was a regular and popular visitor to the Maesydre Recreation Ground. For many years he ran a sports shop in the town.
A funeral service will be held at St Giles Church, Wenlock Road in Shrewsbury on Wednesday, February 2 at 11am.
