Having already raised over £2,500 for the Lingen Davies Appeal through opening their house and garden, Heather and Mel Parkes are hoping to take the total to £3,000 with a concert in the Church House, Welshpool, this Saturday.
An Evening of Autumn Variety will feature the Alec and Aidan instrumental duo; Eleri Wilson, winner of Welshpool’s Got Talent 2016; Pat Edwards- poetry reading; Rebe Melia, winner of Welshpool’s Got Talent 2015; Gerainte Peate - a comical undertaking; Bill Rowell - poetry & song; plus many more.
Whilst having treatment at the Lingen Davies Unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Mel learnt of a couple of fellow patients who were also musicians who wanted to give something back for the treatment and care they had received, and so plans for a show featuring an array of talent was hatched.
Tickets are £6 and available from: Lamplite Antiques, Welshpool Jewellers, or on the door.
The evening will commence at 7.30pm with doors open at 7pm. Nibbles and light refreshments will be served and patrons are invited to bring along their own wine.
