Organiser hails the town’s three-day trip back in time as a huge success, and it will be back!
The organisers behind the 1940’s weekend, which took the town on a three-day trip back in time, says it was a huge success with visitors flooding in and it will be held again next year.
The non-stop nostalgia had something for the whole family from fashion, military, memorabilia, models, vintage cars and military vehicles to even an an air raid shelter on the street and a Spitfire in a car park (pictured).
Organiser Alan Crowe said events including the dinner at the Baytree, Blitz Ball and Military Wives Concert were sold out while the variety show that had a 75% capacity crowd.
“I hope the town, businesses and residents alike, now realise the potential that the event has and will become more involved when we hold it again next year,” he said.
