Welshpool rebuilt their confidence after last weekend's heavy defeat to Newtown with a 10-try thrashing of Rhosllanerchrugog in the North Wales Intermediate Cup.
Welshpool surged ahead to a 28-0 lead courtesy of tries from Tom Williams, Tom Holloway, Ryan Goodwin and Paul Davies, along with four conversions from Williams, before allowing Rhos to get themselves onto the scoreboard with a score of their own. Another score each for Goodwin and Davies, one of which was converted by Williams, sandwiched a second Rhos score, and gave 'Pool a solid 40-14 half-time lead.
With the result in the bag, Welshpool took their foot off the gas in the second half, but still managed to cross for another four tries, with Goodwin and Davies both completing their hat-tricks. There were also scores for captain Joe Stranks and centre Dylan Walton, giving Welshpool a second record victory of the season over their visitors.
