‘Ladies Day’ edging closer

Guilsfield ADS are putting the finishing touches to their upcoming production which will run over five nights later this month.

The hilarious, but also poignant and thought provoking, comedy Ladies Day by Amanda Whittington will be performed from 7.30pm on November 17, 18, 24, 25 and 26.

The Yorkshire Post described the original production as “With its Yorkshire heart and soul it has all the warmth of a Calendar Girls or a Full Monty”. It has also been made into a successful feature film.

Ladies Day is an excellent up to date modern play (2006) from the Hull Truck Theatre Company stable where other plays, like John Godber's Lucky Sods, which have gone down well in Guilsfield, were sourced.

It tells the story of an ill assorted quartet of fish packers from Hull rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous at Royal Ascot when it moved to York. They all bring baggage and issues to pour out as the drink flows and their relationships new and old are exposed for all to see.

Tickets are available on line now at http://www.guilsfieldads.net/tickets.html and also from Welshpool Jewellers and Costcutter (was SPAR) in Guilsfield, or from members of the cast.

Adults are priced at £7.50, with pensioners £6, and under 14s £5.
