Welshpool honoured those who lost their lives for their country at the annual service of remembrance yesterday (Sunday).
A parade was held through the town from the Town Hall followed by the Royal British Legion church service at St Mary’s conducted by the Reverend Steve Willson.
Crowds lined the street as the parade, led by Newtown Junior Band made its way to and from the church with war veterans marching with the Town Council, members of the British Legion and local organisations including Air Training Cadets, Young Firefighters,Scouts, Cubs and Brownies.
Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies and representatives of Powys County Council were also on parade and representatives of organisations laid wreaths at the cenotaph in the churchyard.
