Staff and members of a new Welshpool fitness centre have raised £3,455 for a local cancer fund through a charity event.
Ceri Roberts, owner of Unique Fitness in Brook Street, Welshpool, along with staff and members of the centre undertook three hours back-to-back in a range of activities including spinning, Combat MX and Triple Threat during a fundraising morning.
Sponsorship helped raise the cash, with match funding of £1,000 from Barclays Bank, which has now been donated to the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and was presented to representatives of the charity to help their work.
“We had a great day undertaking a range of activities and we have to thank everyone who sponsored us,” said Ceri. “We were really pleased with how much money we raised for such a worthwhile charity.”
Ceri and Jodie Tanner ran the classes during the charity morning.
Ceri presented a cheque to Mary and Gareth Lewis, Lingen Davies co-ordinators for the area, at Unique Fitness along with instructor Jodie Tanner and Wendy Jones of Barclays who also took part.
