£20 bonus after Severn Trent failures

Welshpool residents who suffered a night without water on January 5 are in for a £20 bonus from Severn Trent Water.

 

The water authority failed to restore supplies to hundreds of homes in the Red Bank and Brookfield Road areas within the guaranteed timescale and have apologised for the inconvenience caused.

 

“We notified customers of our intention to interrupt water supplies in the area for the purpose of essential maintenance work,” said a spokesperson. “Unfortunately during these works complications occurred and as a result we failed to restore the supply by the time stated on the warning issued.

 

“Under our Guarantee Standard of Service scheme residents are entitles to payment of £20. This payment has been credited against accounts and will be on the next bills sent out.”
