Money that is available to benefit Welshpool and its surrounding area is to be released through a grants scheme.

The Burgess Land Trust is running a small grants scheme for the young, disabled and elderly in the areas of Welshpool, Trewern, Guilsfield and Castle Caereinion.

The grants will normally be limited to a maximum of £500 and will take the form of a single payment to successful applicants.

“If you are involved in a group which is for the young, elderly or people with disabilities and you operate in these, this small grants scheme might be for you,” said a spokesperson for the Trust.

A grant can be used for running costs, including room hire and items of equipment. Funds are very limited and priority will be given to groups who have not previously received an award from the Trust.

Where there are people in the group who live outside the area, these must not exceed 30% of the group members.  An award will take the form of a single payment.

Applications must be with the Trust no later than April 3, 2017.

To apply for an application form please contact Roy Norris, Burgesses’ Land, C/o Morgan Griffiths LLP, Cross Chambers, High Street, NEWTOWN, SY16 2NY or email  roy@fulmar.demon.co.uk, phone 01686 622217.
